“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”

(Psalm 55:22 ESV)

Yesterdays sermon was about surrendering to Jesus. It was a great service. I even cried for the first time in ages. God was moving on people’s hearts yesterday. We were encouraged to lay our burdens down and leave them. God told me to lay it all down and walk away. Don’t pick up what I laid down. Leave it there for Jesus to dispose of.

I laid a lot down. But I will admit, I was tempted to pick them up again. But I didn’t, and God rewarded me by letting my car be a minor issue.

God wants us to lay down our frustrations, depression, anxiety, car, and financial issues. Lay down health issues, whether physical or mental, or both. God is waiting for  us to give Him everything that concerns us. He is waiting to take our problems and dispose of them. But we keep holding onto them. We need to loosen our grip on them. Release them and walk away. 

Do you want to live with depression, guilt, and anxiety for the rest of your life? Then, lay it down at the feet of Jesus and walk away from them.

I did, and I feel lighter without it all weighing me down. The devil visited me yesterday morning while I was doing my Bible study. He kept telling me, “God won’t help you. God doesn’t love you”. When I kept telling him to leave, he finally did. But then tried to bring in fear and anxiety by turning on my check engine light. But I fooled him. It didn’t really bother me too much. I felt too much peace about it, so I knew God had it already taken care of. 

God took care of me, and He will take care of you, too.
