28 YEARS AGO:

I was employed by Pan African Paper Mills (E.A.) ltd in 1975. I started working as a helper, three years later I was promoted to the position of Trainee Machine Operator. As a very hardworking and productive Trainee Machine Operator, I got several more promotions and reached the highest grade at the production Department as Senior Machine Operator.

As I was leaving to go home one day in 1995, a young man who seems to have been waiting to travel by bus saw me at the bus stop and asked if I could help him. The young man had been invited for interview from the {TTC} teachers training college located over 270 KMs away, but had no money go get there for his interview.

I only had Kshs 40 in my pocket that day, which is the equivalent of about 30 cents US. I willingly gave it to him, wished him well, and watched as he boarded the bus and took off. In that day before everyone had cell phones, we had no further communication with the young man.

As I was recently conducting an evangelism of door to door campaign, I met a middle aged man who remembered me. He was the man to whom I had given my last 40 Kshs that day back in 1995 so that he could arrived in time for his teaching interview.

He told me that he had his interview that day, and he had been admitted at the TTC where he trained as a teacher. By the time I met up with him again, on February 27, 2024, he had been teaching for 26 years. This man then testified to the congregation at the campaign that night that he is what he is today because of that little bit of support he received from me 28 years ago.

Do good and go your way, doing good pays, let God do the rest. Hudson Wepukhulu is the man I am talking about. He is the very man who is with me in the picture on this post.

Let us follow the footsteps of our master because we are hands, feet and Gods mouth: “Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” (1 John 2:6 NIV)

Christ stands as the representative of the Father and connecting link between God and man, He is the great teacher of mankind and He ordained that men and women should be His representatives. Our calling is because of the Great Commission, and pushing the wheels of the gospel together is our vital role.
