After giving me the grim news that I had Alzheimer’s, my gerontologist suggested I play cognitive games online. “It will help you with your dementia,” he promised. “It will help you!”
Playing may be funny, but it didn’t heal me.
I began reading books about Alzheimer’s. One doctor encouraged me to become a vegetarian. That was funny. I have been a vegetarian for the past 35 years.
In another book, the author, a renown doctor, suggested getting a diploma. I already have several. Believe me, they don’t help.
The list of things that were suggested that didn’t work could go on and on; but suffice is to say, all these things will not heal us. Only One can heal! Jesus! It wasn’t until I began to bask in the Words of Jesus Christ about healing that things began to improve. You see, the more we seek healing from other places, the less will happen.
I have begun reading everyday about Jesus and how He healed people. Every time I read these encouragements from my Heavenly Father, I can feel His love and I can hear Him speaking to me softly: “You are not alone. I am with you.”
Take for instance, this Bible Verse: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NIV). Let’s break it apart, bit by bit:
“Do not fear.” Our Holy Father tells us not to be fearful. Why? “For I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” Our Heavenly Father will not abandon you. He will be with you forever!
Then He says: “I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Our Father will strengthen you and help you. The more we get to know Him, the closer we will be to Him and the more we are with Him, the more we will love Him. Our Heavenly Daddy will stay with us and strengthen us, always. After all, He loves us! Isn’t this amazing? Our Father loves us and He will give victory! We are not alone, for our Heavenly Father is with us!
Why worry? Our Father is with you.
