The Day They Crucified My Precious Saviour

by | Apr 28, 2019 | Crucifixion, Poem

There was so much hate coming from the crowd that it made the day pitch black;
No one stood up for Christ and asked for the decision to be crucified, to be taken back.
It was day and the sun should have been at its highest point in the sky;
But the darkness of hate smothered it out … did anyone wonder why?

I believe that it was around high noon, yet the sun did not smile down;
For it hid its’ face in sadness for the one who wore the crown.
Knowing that the Creator of all was about to meet His’ fate;
The sun held back his smile and did not come out until way late.

The moon and the stars, also, were nowhere to be found;
They, too, waited as their Master lay bleeding on the ground.
There was not a bird on wing … nor did any Angels sing;

They all hung their heads in sorrow as they waited for the fate of their beloved King.
All that He did for mankind … yet mankind treated Him this way;
While His other creations honored and mourned Him on that fateful day.
The sun held back and did not shine its light;

On the day they crucified my beloved Jesus Christ.
