“The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.”
(Lamentations 3:25 ESV)
“I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
(Psalm 27:13-14 ESV)
Noah-waited 120 years before the predicted rain. Abraham-waited 25 years for a promised son. Joseph-waited 14 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.
More importantly, the awaited goal is the work God does in us while we wait. Waiting matures us, prepares us, humbles us, teaches us, and keeps us reliant on God.
Think about the guys who waited on God. Could you wait 120 years for rain? I’m not sure I would be as patient as Noah. Of course He had a pretty big project to keep himself occupied. So the next time you get tired of waiting, think of everyone who had to wait years to see what God promised. Then, take a deep breath and go on waiting.
Have a great day, everyone.
