“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
(Hebrews 13:8 ESV)
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.”
(Isaiah 40:8 ESV)
I watched one of my great granddaughters yesterday. I turned on cartoons I grew up with. We watched Looney Tunes. That brought back memories of me and my brothers on Saturday mornings, sitting on the floor with a bowl of cereal watching Saturday morning cartoons. Fun times. My grandkid loved them. No cereal, though. We had toast with butter and jelly. Her choice.
But it got me to thinking. Old things have a way of becoming new again. Old furniture being restored, old TV shows coming back. Even fashion sometimes makes a comeback. But you know who never makes a comeback? God! God never has to restore Himself or remake Himself into something new. God doesn’t need to change. He doesn’t have to be remade into a new person. God loves us. I know I say that a lot, but it’s true. God loves each of us the same. His love never changes. It is never refurbished. He does renew his love for us each day.
Next Saturday, get your kids, grandkids or niece, and nephew. Get a bowl of your favorite cereal (mine is Captain Crunch) and watch cartoons with them. Not the cartoons from now either. Find Looney Toons, Muppets or even Popeye. Tom and Jerry is always good, too. Eat your cereal and laugh with your kids. And always remember. God loves you no matter what.
Have a great day, everyone.
