“Can a mother forget the infant at her breast, walk away from the baby she bore? But even if mothers forget, I’d never forget you-never. Look, I’ve written your names on the backs of my hands. The walls you’re rebuilding are never out of my sight.” Isaiah 49:15-16 (MSG)
Most mothers would die for their children, even when that child is 50 years old! A mother’s love is generally manifested in devotion to her children, above anything else. Any threat to her child, and she will become more ferocious than a grizzly bear. Still, some mothers abandon their children. That’s quite sad, as the children need their mothers to nurture them.
It’s not like that with our Heavenly Father. He will never forget us, even when we are a hundred years old! He cannot forget us! Most parents have pictures of their children all over their homes, as well as in their wallets. A fire could destroy all these memories, however; but not so with our Heavenly Father. He has written our names on the back of his hand! Nothing will separate us from our Father. He is our Father, and He ferociously protects us in all situations. No way would He ever abandon us!
What about our sins?
“But I, yes I, am the one who takes care of your sins-that’s what I do. I don’t keep a list of your sins.” Isaiah 43:25 (MSG)
Our Father is not here to condemn us. He loves us. After all, we are His children! He will make us victorious! The same is true with loving parents.
There are, however, consequences for our sins. Who will pay the price? “He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed.” Isaiah 53:5b (MSG) Jesus took the burden of our sins!
Still, some enjoy living in sin, and they forget all about their Heavenly Father. God still tries to reach them. He wants them to be free from any burden: “The Spirit of the Almighty LORD is with me because the LORD has anointed me to deliver good news to humble people. He has sent me to heal those who are brokenhearted, to announce that captives will be set free and prisoners will be released.” Isaiah 61:1 (GW)
After long time ago, I read a true story of two mothers whose daughters were hit by a drunk driver. Both were killed on the spot. Imagine losing your own child due to a drink driver! The pain would be unbearable!
Instead of hating that despicable man who killed their daughters, these mothers forgave him and pursued early release from prison for him, and they were successful. This is how our Heavenly Father loves us! He will never forget us.
May I encourage you to prayerfully meditate daily to discover how He come through for you today. You will be amazed! After all, He loves you beyond comprehension!
“I know the plans that I have for you, declares the LORD. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (GW)
