But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
(Matthew 6:33 ESV)
But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
(Matthew 6:6 ESV)
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
(Romans 10:17 ESV)
The subject came up today as I and one of my daughters were coming home from shopping. I hope I can remember it right.
Take two weeks. Go one week without spending time with God. Then the next week go without television. See which one you would miss the most.
Most would say the TV.
The one you miss the most is where your heart is. I know I am guilty of having the TV on during day. I don’t always watch it. I just like the noise. But that question convicted me. I cannot go a day let alone a week without talking to God. I know that I can probably go without TV but never without God. God is front and center in my life and that is where He should be at all times. If He isn’t there in your life, I suggest you think long and hard about it. Time is getting short and hell is not the place you want to spend eternity.
So can you go a week without TV? I think I could. I once went 5 days without it when a storm knocked out the power in three counties. TV I could go without but it was the middle of summer and I really missed the AC more than TV.
Have a great day, everyone.
