“He that spared not his own Son, But freely delivered him up for us all, How shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32 (Montgomery NT)
“I can guarantee this truth: Those who believe in me will do the things that I am doing. They will do even greater things because I am going to the Father. I will do anything you ask {the Father} in my name so that the Father will be given glory because of the Son. If you ask me to do something, I will do it.” John 14:12-14 (GW)
We know our Heavenly Father loves us. He demonstrated this clearly when Jesus willingly offered Himself on the cross for the only reason of giving us the opportunity to accept His offer of eternal life. He suffered so that we could be victorious!
There are other ways where we can experience our Father fully, however. Anyone who experiences divine healing will keep this experience dearly in mind and will confidently share it with everyone!
Unbeknownst to most in the western world, healings still happen on a regular basis in this world. In fact, James urges us to pray for healing: “Is any one of you ill? Let him send for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, after anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, it will be forgiven him.” James 5:14-15 (Montgomery NT)
The elders truly have no power, but our Father does. And healing is not solely the “job description” of the elders, either. Stephen was a deacon, and: “Stephen, full of grace and power, wrought great wonders and signs among the people.” Acts 6:8 (ASV) He, too, had no power; but again, our Father does.
According the verse above (See John 14:12-14), all those who believe in Him will be able to heal others as well, thanks to the power of our Father. All we need is a mustard-sized amount of faith: “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.” Matthew 17:20 (NASB77)
The mustard seed is the smallest seed in this world, and though our faith may be tiny, it is enough for miracles to happen. After all, it is our Father who heals! When we partner with our Father, He heals. These healings are not solely for the faithful, either; but for anyone!
A colleague’s daughter had a terrible pain in her ankle. The doctors couldn’t help her. My colleague asked me to pray for her, and she was totally healed. My colleague experienced God through this experience and was drawn closer to Him. Who made that possible? Our Heavenly Father.
The brother of one of our volunteers had a terrible car accident. It was a miracle that he was still alive. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital and was placed in ICU. He was in a deep coma with bleeding on his brain. It didn’t look good. We started to pray for him to come out of his coma.
While I was praying, I felt the assurance from our Heavenly Father that he would come out of it. Nothing happened for two weeks, but we never gave up praying for his return from his coma. However, his family had already prepared for his funeral because the doctors said there was no hope. Then one day the impossible became possible. A pastor wandered into his room, whispered into his ear, and wandered off. It was at this moment his eyes started fluttering. The next day, although still unable to comprehend what was going on, he opened his eyes and for the first time managed a smile. He had that unmistakable glow that Jesus had taken over and everything was going to be fine. He was then transferred to a regular hospital room. God’s Word never comes back void! Allan now is back home and undergoes physical therapy. I can imagine he is quite thankful for what our Heavenly Father has done for him.
Our Father does care for us, and healings still happen today. I encourage anyone to experience Him fully. You will be amazed!
