Spiritual Opportunism

Gerd Muller? Does it ring a bell? With national record of 68 goals in 62 international appearances, this German footballer was aptly nicknamed the ‘Bomber’. He is one of the very few players of 50 or more caps to score more goals than the games he has played.

What made him so effective in goal mouth action? His uncanny ability to seize even a small oppurtunity and convert it into a goal.

In the process of sharing the Good News about God’s saving grace, ‘opportunism’ is vital. One has to be constantly on the look out for an opportunity and when it arises, it needs to be grabbed… with both hands!

“…Preach the Word of God urgently at all times, whenever you get the chance, in season and out, when it is convenient and when it is not…” – II Tim 4:2 (TLB)

Remember, if we do not evangelize, we fossilize!

Prayer: Father in Heaven, enable and equip me to be a Good servant, who would capitalise on every oppurtunity to share the Good News. Amen.
