Fields

by | Jun 2, 1999 | Great Commission, Poem, Witnessing

The fields are white to harvest,
Where, then, shall we start
Our walk to the poor and needy?
The beginning’s in our heart.

Lord, give us Your eyes to see them
As you would have them seen,
As you pour out your mercy
To make them new and clean.

Lord, give us Your words to tell them
Of sweet Redemption’s plan.
Where lost souls can find healing
In the shadow of Your Hand.

Lord, give us Your tears to weep over them,
To draw each precious one near
While Your Sweet Love enfolds them
And lets them know You hear.

Lord give us Your arms to hold them
To never let them go
While Your River of Cleansing
Over them can flow.

Humble hearts, we need them,
Lord, and willing ones too,
To walk these harvest fields,
Bringing souls to you.
