I hate when the waitress asks that dreaded question: “Are you still working on that?”

It’s the unspoken code for everyone else is done. The table’s cleared, dessert’s been served, conversations have ended…and I’m still chewing. Half my meal remains untouched while everyone else is ready to move on.

No one really knows why I eat so slowly. Some joke it’s because I talk too much. I tried staying quiet once—still didn’t help. I was the last to finish again. Even my sweet husband, patient as ever, once said, “Next time I’ll bring a book.”

And yet—he always waits. He never leaves me behind. He’s by my side till the very end. And that… reminds me of Someone else.

God.

Just like my husband, God never rushes us. He never checks out early. He’s not annoyed by our pace, our process, or the mess we make along the way.

No matter how long it takes…

* To heal from heartbreak
* To forgive someone who hurt you
* To make a big decision
* To finish the chapter of your life you’re stuck in

God waits. God stays.

God sticks with you… all the way through.

“For this God is our God for ever and ever; He will be our guide even to the end.” (Psalm 48:14 (NIV))

In a world that rushes us, pressures us, and sometimes leaves us behind, God remains unchanged and unchanging.

“In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain…but you remain the same, and your years will never end.” (Psalm 102:25–27 NIV)

Here’s what that means for you today:

* You’re not too slow for God. He’s not in a hurry.
* You’re not too broken for His grace. He sees the whole picture.
* You’re not alone in the waiting. He waits with you.
* You’re not forgotten. He’s by your side, guiding you step by step.
* You’re loved through every chapter—beginning, middle, and end.

If life feels like it’s passing you by…

If you’re the last one still figuring things out…

If you’re still “working on that” …

Know this: God isn’t rushing you. He’s not walking away. He’s not growing impatient. He’s with you till the end.

Let’s Pray: Lord, thank You for being patient with me. When I feel behind or unsure of where I’m headed, remind me that You’re still right beside me. Help me trust Your timing, Your presence, and Your love. Give me peace in the waiting, confidence in the process, and faith that You will never let me go. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
