When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
(Isaiah 43:2 ESV)
Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
(Isaiah 41:10 ESV)
I had a dream the other night. I was standing outside looking at the sky. Off in the distance the clouds were black. I knew a storm was coming. Then I woke up. I didn’t think anymore about it until I was driving home from grocery shopping at Walmart yesterday. God started talking. He said, “Regarding the storm. What are you going to do about it?”
I told Him as long as I have Jesus beside me I will be fine. He replied, “Good.”
I got to thinking. Wonder what storm is coming? Wonder when it is coming? But I was not worried about it. I’m still not worried. Storms come. That’s a fact of life. It’s how you deal with them is what matters.
Will you stand strong and face it with confidence? Or will you curl up and try to hide? You can’t hide from the devil. He is the one who brings the storms. He does all he can do to derail our walk with God. But we can fight him. Use God’s word against him:
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7 ESV)
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8 ESV)
Submit yourself to God. When you do, the devil has to flee. And flee he will. But that doesn’t mean he won’t try to come back. Stand strong and stand your ground against the devil. Don’t let him gain even a fraction of an inch in your life.
Have a great day, everyone.
