An Urgent Call for Today’s Turmoil

by | Nov 16, 2025 | Fear, Focus, Surrender, Worry

Some weeks back, my computer froze. I fought the panic and called my friend for help.

“You have too many windows open,” she said, “that’s your problem.”

Duh! That’s exactly what happened. I, the queen of multi-tasking, had so many windows open in my computer at once that a mighty draft was probably blowing my way.

Many of us are doing that, especially now.

The winds of tension in our country, in the world, and in our heart is turning into an emotional hurricane. That’s because we let the window of worry open, allowing the draft of fear to blow our peace to pieces.

Time to shift! Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we have to make the choice not to allow the enemy to have a second victory.

Second victory? Yes! He’s already making the world darker by the day, that might be his temporary victory. But if we allow him to alter our security, to shake our confidence, to diminish our faith, and to stir anger in us…he has a second victory.

We cannot allow that. Instead, when we recognize we live under the banner of Christ Jesus, we move forward under His mighty power to defeat all adversity, under His promise that He will never abandon us.

We live confidently in victory.

The kind of victory and triumph that has nothing to do with elections, politics, wars, turmoil, or adversity. But everything to do with whom we serve, in whom we trust, and in whom is our complete security.

Get out and vote, but first vote to follow and trust in the leader of your soul, the King of kings and the mighty Lord of all. And by the way, He doesn’t need your vote, He’s already on the throne. His reign is alive and powerfully effective.

But the question is, how effective is your resolve to seek Him, to believe in Him, and declare He’s the master of all, no matter the turmoil? He’s the author of the story, and we know the ending—triumphant victory!

While we wait, we inhale His comfort, echo His promise, and our soul repeats: “Though I am surrounded by troubles, you will bring me safely through them.” (Psalm 138:7 NIV)

Father, “How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.” (Psalm 31:19 NIV)

Let’s Pray: Father, I confess that I’m tempted to join the world of worry, the frenzy of fear. But Lord, I declare with all that’s in me, I will lift my head high, and with eyes focused on You, and with my lips, I shall repeat, “You’re fighting the battle and I’m on your victorious side.” In Jesus name.

If God is for you, what can man do to you?
