Faith in God

by | Aug 2, 2025 | Faith, Fear, New Life, Strength

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

(Philippians 4:13 ESV)

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

(Isaiah 41:10 ESV)

But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

(Isaiah 40:31 ESV)

How strong are you? I don’t mean physical strength. When the storms of life come, do you stand tall or do you collapse like a house of cards?

As I sat here last night struggling to write, I cried to God for help. I laid my head against the back of my chair and saw the plaque on the wall. It says, “Let your faith be bigger than your fears.” The words started coming. God is so good. He lets us struggle for awhile until we finally cry out to Him for help. Why do we wait so long before we cry out to God for help? It would be so much easier for us if we just went to Him instead of waiting. God is patient with us because He knows we are trying. We just get distracted.

A friend’s daughter had this message for her voice mail: “Sorry I can’t come to the phone right now. But if you leave your name, number, and a short message I will get back to you unless I get distracted…oh look how sparkly.”

She was just kidding, sort of. She did get distracted easily. But that’s what the devil wants. Distractions pull us away from God. So build up your faith so distractions aren’t so easy for you.

Have a great day.
