“Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.” (Psalm 119:18 ESV)

“To open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.” (Acts 26:18 ESV)

I was playing a game of Solitaire on my phone yesterday. I thought I had the game won. But then got stopped with no more moves. So I cheated and used the hint button. It showed a move I didn’t see. I won the game because I opened my eyes and saw the moves needed.

That’s how we are in our walk with Jesus. If we just open our eyes, we can see what a wonderful Savior He is. We can see the attacks that come against us. But we close our eyes when it comes to Jesus. We need to take a step back and look where we have come from and then look and see where we are going.

Some of us don’t want to remember where we came from. We don’t want to remember the past. But the past is what made us what we are today. So take a look at your life, open your eyes, and see what Jesus has for each of us.
