The Window

by | Jun 1, 2020 | Peace, Poem, Salvation

Peering through the window,
the window of my soul.
I found a dark and dying place.
In my heart, a hole.

This hole had grown quite large —
none other could compare.
And it has simply grown there
while I was unaware.

You see, I’d lived my life
by my own ingenious plan.
Never heeding to the call
of the Great I AM.

And as I sat there peering
through the window of my soul
I found a simple answer…
a way to fill this hole.

I prayed to the Savior,
asked Him to forgive —
To show me how to worship Him,
to show me how to live.

As I prayed to the Savior,
I felt an inner peace.
I know that He was listening;
I felt my sin release.

Now as I peer through the window,
the window of my soul.
I find an everlasting peace.
I find that I am whole.
