Thought for the Day

by | Apr 26, 2024 | Expectation, Optimism

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

(Philippians 4:8 ESV)

“A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

(Proverbs 17:22 ESV)

A friend sent me this yesterday: “Face life positively, joyously, expecting  good things to happen, and that there was  something to be gained from every experience.”

What a thought-provoking statement. What a way to live your life.  Just think how your life would be if you lived your life like that. I am an advocate for a lifestyle like this.

Does it always happen this way?

No.

Why?

Well, my thoughts are that the devil doesn’t want us to be happy. He hates it when we live in joy. But what if we started thinking positively. Thinking that everything is going to go right. Not accepting bad things. Along with that is joy. I love being joyful. It makes my day so much better.

I am guilty of this and need to change. I don’t always expect good things to happen. For example, there is too much month at the end of my money. Happens frequently. But you know what? Somehow, it always works out. Somehow, the bills all get paid, and groceries are bought. It may not be exactly what I want, but it’s food and fills a need. The gas tank may not be full, but I still get from point A to point B and back again.

God is so good. He works it out for us. He takes care of us. He loves us so much. I think this is a great way to live my life. Expect good things from every experience. Let God work in your life. Enjoy His love and power in your life.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
