Chemical Anchors

by | May 25, 2003 | Obedience, Strength, Will of God

What a challenge I faced? I am not the most impractical person at home and here I was searching for a successful solution to a very unstable cement balustrade. What a struggle! Where do I go? Who do I talk to?

It wasn’t very long before plan A, B & C were exhausted, and plan D was being explored. So down to the hardware store I trundled, armed with the problem and wallet, ready to pay for answers.

The solution – ‘chemical anchors’! For those, like me, who had no idea what this was, let me explain! This product is similar in size and looks to a science test tube. Inside, rather than being empty, it contains two separated substances. Once these elements combine with oxygen – in other words, when they are shattered – they set hard like concrete or steel.

Several hours later after drilling quite a few holes into the concrete the anchors were put into place. Then long metal rods were hammered into the holes to burst the chemical test tubes. The contents shattered, allowing air to mix with both ingredients, quickly coagulating into a solid mass.

Mixing God’s will for your life with your willingness to be obedient creates a combination of unfathomable strength.

“For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love.” Romans 8:38

Today, let God anchor your life!
