“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.”
(Matthew 7:13-14 ESV)
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”
(Proverbs 16:9 ESV)
I saw this on Facebook yesterday: “You are free to choose, but you are not free from the consequences of your choice.”
That got me to thinking. I have had to make a lot of choices in my life. Some were good, some not so good. One bad choice was decades ago. I started hanging out with a bad influence and starting drinking. It didn’t take but once of getting sick and throwing up beer to make me quit.
Good choice? That’s easy. The day I came back to God. The day I rededicated myself to living for God. That was the best decision of my life. God set in motion a series of events that made me rethink my life. My life was good. I had a job I loved but lost it through a bad decision on my part. But I think that was part of God’s plan. That brought me back to the fold and to a church that really cares about the congregation. I do not regret that choice one little bit.
So how about you? Have you made the choice to live for God? Don’t know how to? Here’s a prayer for you.
“Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins and surrender my life. Wash me clean. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. That he died on the cross for my sins and rose again on the third day for my Victory, I believe that in my heart and make confession with my mouth, that Jesus is my Savior and Lord. Amen.”
Say it, mean it and change your life, and start living for God.
Have a great day, everyone.
