Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

(Matthew 6:34 ESV)

One day at a time. Slow and steady wins the race. I’m sure there are probably more sayings like those somewhere. One day at a time is all we should be trying to deal with. We can’t go back and change anything and we can’t control tomorrow. So let’s be thankful for the gift of today.

Today. That’s all we really have anyway. We aren’t guaranteed a long life. If we were, children would not be dying. Do you think Jesus worried about tomorrow? I don’t. I think He just took it as it came and made the best of it. When troubles come your way, what do you do? Do you face it head on or do you curl up in a ball and try to hide from it?

The past couple of weeks have been very hard for me. I just haven’t bounced back from the surgery like I used to. And if one more person tells me, “Well you are getting older” I think I will punch them. I know I am getting older. I am trying to spend more time with Jesus. But it seems like I constantly get distracted and have to repent and apologize. But then I try to get back on track again.

That’s the thing about Jesus, you get distracted but He is waiting right where you left Him. He is waiting for you to get back to Him again. The thing with me was the pain. Pain would distract me from what I was doing. Pain from falling was bad. I had bruises across my backside and back. No wonder it hurt just to sit. But Jesus was patient with me. He knew what I was going through and what I still had to go through. He was very patient and kind with me. And He is with you too.

Next time you are going through something, remember, take it easy, take it one day at a time and don’t forget to take Jesus with you.

Have a great day, everyone.
