But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Family isn’t the people who sit at your table because tradition says they should. A family is the people who notice when your chair is empty. The people who come looking for you. The people who tell the truth. The people who make room. And sometimes, after years of believing you were unwanted, the greatest gift isn’t being invited back. It’s realizing you were never unwanted at all. You were simply waiting for the right people to open the door.”
I read a fictional story on Facebook the other day. The above struck a cord with me. I have finally learned the true meaning of family.
Family isn’t always blood relatives. Family is who wants you around. People who love you even with your faults. I have a great biological family. It’s just my brothers and their families but they are blood and loved. My greatest family are the ones in my life who adopted me into their lives. The ones who call me mom and grandma. I don’t have biological kids but I have people who love me like their mother. That means so much to me. I know I am not alone as I get older.
Do you know God? He is the creator of everything. He created all of us. He is our Heavenly Father whether you want to admit it or not. He would move heaven and earth for us. He loves us so much he factored in escape routes when we get ourselves in trouble.
I want to ask you today. Are you living your life in such a way as to make God proud to call you His child? If you aren’t, maybe it’s time to change your ways. Time is really getting short. Jesus is coming back soon. You need to be ready. You really don’t want to be left behind.
