Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

(Ephesians 6:10 ESV)

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

(Psalm 73:26 ESV)

“Strength isn’t built in easy moments. It Is shaped when you pass through adversity and refuse to give up.”

That was sent to me by a friend. I think she knew I needed that yesterday morning. The devil did not want me to go to church.

Yesterday morning early, 4 a.m. to be exact, my bladder decided it was full enough. So I had to get up and go to the bathroom. I tried, I really tried to go back to sleep afterward, but couldn’t. There was no way I could miss church. We had a potluck scheduled and I wasn’t keeping the food I made. I had to go.

Besides, I wanted to go. But the devil kept trying. I was extremely short of breath every time I moved, I huffed and puffed. I kept telling him I was not staying home so he might as well give up. He didn’t. He even tried to prove his point during lunch. I was standing in line waiting my turn. My back started hurting and I got sick to my stomach. But I stayed.

I want to tell you all something. The devil isn’t going to quit. His time is getting short and he knows it. But we have weapons. We have power to fight him. And I fought yesterday. And he fought back. But God gave me the strength to overcome him.

I love God. He is willing to do battle for us. He will fight our battles and stand strong beside us. He helps us overcome the devil. The next time you think you aren’t strong enough, think again. Just lean on God and let Him help you.
