Dusty Bibles

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

(Psalm 119:105 ESV)

For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

(Hebrews 4:12 ESV)

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV)

There’s a song called, “Dusty Bibles”, by Josiah Queen:

“We got dust on our Bibles,
brand-new iPhones
No wonder why we feel this way.”

From “Dusty Bibles” by Josiah Queen

Do you have Bible or a Bible app?

I personally have both. I read my Bible every morning and the app every night before I go to bed. Yes, I read a Bible app. But I can assure you there is no dust on my physical Bible. I love my Bible. I have had for a very long time. It was falling apart so I glued it back together. The cover was falling apart. I took clear contact paper and covered it. I need a new Bible but I love my worn out one. Even if i do get a new one, I will probably never get rid of my old one because my mom gave me this one.

When do you read your Bible? Assuming you do read your Bible, how do you read it? I read my physical Bible starting in the Old Testament. On the app I read the New Testament. Do you just open your Bible and read wherever it opens? Or do you have a plan. I suggest you get a plan and follow it. I like to go start to finish. I like to read about the things everyone did in order of how it happened.

I want to encourage you to read your Bible or Bible app. But in my opinion, nothing beats holding that book in your hands.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
