And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

(Hebrews 11:6 ESV)

And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.

(Matthew 21:22 ESV)

I got a cute meme yesterday from a friend. It’s a picture of Snoopy holding onto a tree. The wind is so strong it’s blowing him straight out. It is drawn by Charles Schulz. It says… “Faith is holding on tight when the going gets windy.”

I read a little about Charles Schulz. He taught Sunday School for a while. He was a Lutheran.

Faith. What is faith to you? To me, it’s believing something. I tell my granddaughter that I have faith that she will do well on her spelling test. She hates spelling. But telling her I believe in her helps her some. I try to help her as much as I can to learn them each week.

According to Oxford Languages, one definition of faith is, “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.” Another definition, same source, “strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof.” Do you believe God can do all things? Do you have faith enough to believe it?

But you say you have been believing for something for a long time. So have I and I will keep believing until it either comes or I go home to glory. Have I lost faith that God is going to send it? No! I believe that when the time is right and it is in the will of God, it will come.

I want to encourage you to keep your faith strong. But if you can’t, remember faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains.

For we walk by faith, not by sight.

(2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV)

Have a great day, everyone.
