Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.

(Acts 3:19 ESV)

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

(Matthew 4:17 ESV)

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

(2 Peter 3:9 ESV)

I saw this online yesterday. This is by Thomas Watson, “The Doctrine of Repentance:”

“Never do the flowers of grace grow more than in the showers of repentance tears.”

(The Doctrine of Repentance by Thomas Watson)

According AI Overview, “In the Bible, repentance is a transformative change of mind and heart that results in turning away from sin and returning to God. It’s more than just feeling sorry; it involves a genuine conviction of wrongdoing, a turning away from sin, and a commitment to a new, God-honoring way of life. This process is demonstrated through actions and a renewed pursuit of God and His will.”

Have you cried out to the Lord tears flowing? Tears have a cleansing effect. But what happens when you cry out to the Lord and can’t cry the tears? That is where I am right now. It’s like my tear ducts have dried up and tears won’t come. It’s ok because I don’t stop crying out. I  don’t care if I don’t cry another tear, I will never stop crying out to my Heavenly Father.

I will never stop repenting because I am not perfect and I  mess up. But the Lord will forgive me when I ask because He loves me. He wants all of His children happy but the day-to-day struggles tend to drag us down. We forget to think about all the things God has done for us and will do for us. We all need to take a moment and thank God for the things He does for us.

Just think, without God, where would we be?  So cry out to God, repent. Apologize to God for letting Him down. He will graciously forgive you because He loves you that much.

Have a wonderful day.
