Peace and Tranquility

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

(John 14:27 ESV)

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.”

(Isaiah 26:3 ESV)

According to Oxford Languages, peace is “freedom from disturbance; tranquility.” Tranquility is “the quality or state of being tranquil; calm.”

For those of you who have or have had kids under foot all day, with all the noise and activity all around you, it gets a bit chaotic. When those kids go to bed or if you  are babysitting, they go home, the silence can be deafening. I watch two of my great grandkids during the week for a few hours each day. I love these kids. They are not usually loud and rowdy. But even though, when Dad comes to get them, I notice how quiet it is.

it’s in the quiet when I hear God better. It’s in the quiet that I get my Bible read and do my devotionals. I love my quiet time with God.

But I love my time with the kids, too. I wouldn’t trade these days for the world. But we all need the quiet times. The peace and tranquility that the quiet brings. If you find yourself with alone time, try spending it with God. You can’t go wrong if you spend time with God.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
