God’s at Home

by | Sep 20, 2024 | Presence, Relationship

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

(Psalm 23:4 ESV)

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

(Proverbs 16:3 ESV)

I read the comic strip Family Circus the other day. The 2 boys were standing under a tree, looking up at a star filled sky. One boy said to the other, “God has all His lights on, so you know He’s home.”

Isn’t that a nice thought? But then, isn’t God always there? He is always home waiting for us to call on Him. God loves hearing from His kids. Just like any parent and grandparent love hearing from their kids.

I have a daughter and a granddaughter who text me just about every morning. I love seeing,” good morning, mom”. I look forward to seeing those texts every day. If I love to hear from my kids, think about how God feels. He has way more kids than me.

The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is tell God good morning and ask how His night was.

I want to encourage you to call, text, or even email your parents and tell them how much you love them. Your parents love you and long to hear from you. If your parents are already gone, do what I do. I ask God to give them a hug and tell them I love them. He will do that for you.

Have a great day, everyone.
