Be a Lion

by | May 23, 2024 | Strength, Weakness

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

(Joshua 1:9 ESV)

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

(Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV)

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

(Isaiah 41:10 ESV)

I was reading an article on Facebook yesterday. A sentence popped out at me: “Roar! Lions don’t lose sleep over sheep’s opinions.”

So which are you? A lion or a sheep? I would like to think I’m a lion. I was born in July, so my “sign” is Leo the lion. I don’t follow astrology, but I do know lions are strong. Even though it’s the females who do the hunting, the males protect the pride of females and young.

Where am I going with this? Do you know who the strongest person I know is? Jesus. Just think about what He went through in His short life. He went through betrayal, ridicule, and torture. Then, the ultimate test of His strength was being nailed to the cross while the Roman guards drew lots for His clothes.

Are you that strong? I’m not. I will admit it. I don’t think I could go through everything Jesus did. I know where I am going when my time is up here. I guess some would say that is strength. I will keep following and professing my love for Jesus until I finally go home.

So how strong are you? Think about it. Are you a lion or a sheep?

Have a great day, everyone.
