Rain on Me

by | May 6, 2024 | Blessing, Refreshing, Revival

“Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.”

(Hosea 6:3 ESV)

“The Lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.”

(Deuteronomy 28:12 ESV)

I was sitting in my recliner yesterday evening listening to it rain. Then songs about rain came to mind. The first one was, “Let The Rain of Your Presence” by Clarence McClendon:

“Love Divine, Joy unspeakable.
Overflow, Within my soul.
This heart of mine
Is refreshed and at rest.
In your presence.
In your presence.
Let the rain of your presence fall on me.
Every day that I live.
With every breath I breathe.
Let the rain of your presence fall on me.
Everywhere that I go.
Lord, let your presence flow
Rain on me.”

That song quieted my heart and mind. I have been going through some things the past few weeks. But just the words to this song brought peace. I am reassured that God has this handled.

Another one is, “There Shall Be Showers of Blessings” by James McGranahan:

“There shall be showers of blessings.
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
 Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
but for the showers, we plead.”

Lord, I plead for the mercy drops to fall on us all. Bring the showers of blessings we so desperately need.

Last one. “Let The Fire Fall” by Carmen.

“Lord, send the rain.
Pour out Your Spirit.
Let the fire fall.
Heal us one and all.
Fall fresh on me.
Holy, Holy Spirit.
Let the fire fall.
Heal us one and all.
Fall fresh on me.”

Let the Fire Fall by Carmen

Fall fresh on me, Lord. Send the rain, send the fire. Pour out Your Spirit on us all. Refresh and revive us, oh, Lord. Let this be your cry, too. Refresh and revive me, oh Lord.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
