God is With Us

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

(Isaiah 41:10 ESV)

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

(Joshua 1:9 ESV)

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

(Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV)

I was watching a show last night. They made the statement that Emmanuel means God is with us. So I looked it up. Sure enough. “Emmanuel is a masculine name of Hebrew origin that means ‘God is with us.’ It is a variant spelling of Immanuel, which comes from the Greek word Emmanouēl and the Hebrew word ʽimmānūʼēl.”

But do you really think God is with us 24/7? For record, yes, I do believe it. I believe that with all my heart, God is with me every minute of every day. If you don’t believe it, then explain to me why someone walked away from a wreck that should have killed them? I have seen many people walk away from a car so badly damaged that they should have died. But didn’t. Explain a beautiful sunrise or sunset. God is a great painter. Explain why you feel peace when someone you love dies. God is right there holding you.

He was with me when my parents died. I knew He was with me when Dad died. But when Mom died, I had such a wonderful feeling of peace. Sure, I cried. But not at the funeral. After I got home, after it all over with is when I cried. But it wasn’t bitter tears of regret. They were cleansing tears of relief. I know where Mom and Dad are. They are waiting in Heaven for their kids to join them.

I know God has been with me my whole life. I feel Him close every day. I hope you do too.

Have a great day, everyone.

Have a great day.
