Be Like Velcro

“For this, you have been called because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example so that you might follow in his steps.”

(1 Peter 2:21 ESV)

“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him.”

(Colossians 2:6 ESV)

My pastor made a statement yesterday that stuck with me. She said, “Be like Velcro. Stick to Jesus.”

I think we all know what Velco is. It sticks to itself and refuses to let go without a fight and a court order. Just think. If we stuck to Jesus like that. Our lives would be great. Always in His presence, always right there with Him. I can’t imagine how great that would be. To have that peace and contentment day after day.

Why don’t we? Because the world butts in and draws our attention to other things. Next thing we know, the Velcro has let go. Velcro does get weak after a while. But it takes a long time with constant pulling then replacing. Jesus would like nothing more than to be the sticky end of our Velcro. He wants us to let Him stick close to us.

So if you feel your Velcro has grown weak, fix it. Fix your walk and get the sticky Velcro again. Stick to Jesus. He won’t steer you wrong.

It felt so good being back in church yesterday. I missed 2 weeks because of surgery. There is such peace knowing you are going to your Father’s house. I suggest you go to church. Let Jesus install Velcro in you so you too can stick close to Him.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
