“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 ESV)

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35 ESV)

I grabbed a T shirt to wear to church last night. It says love like Jesus. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I have this shirt or that I randomly grabbed it yesterday. It is telling us a very important message. We need to love like Jesus did when He walked this old earth. 

Jesus was kind and loving. He showed kindness to the most unlovable people. He hung around the criminals, prostitutes, etc. Why? Because people shunned them. He showed unconditional love to them. 

We need to show the love of Jesus to the most unlovable of people. We may be the only one to even say a kind word to them. How would you feel if people crossed the street to avoid you? Or if you were turned away from a restaurant or public place because of how you are dressed or look? Think about it. Is that the way you want people to look at you? You are supposed to be filled with the love of God, yet you avoid people who might only need a kind word or a smile. 

Be the kind of person Jesus wants you to be. Spread His word and show kindness to everyone regardless of how they look or smell.
