“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV)

“Then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment.” (2 Peter 2:9 ESV)

Years ago I used to read the comic strip Ziggy. One Sunday it showed him standing looking at the sunset. He said, “I know God won’t give me more than I can handle. But sometimes I wish he didn’t trust me so much.”

There have been times I have felt the same way. But no matter what comes your way, God always provides a way out.

For example, if you are having financial issues. Pray about it, praise God for provision. He will send it, usually when you least expect it.

Or how about car trouble? I had an issue with my car awhile back. My neighbor told me about her mechanic. Turns out I knew him. I had been kind to him a few years earlier when others weren’t. He remembered that and repaid me by fixing my car for free, parts and labor.

But here is something interesting. God also uses regular people to help others. People have helped me out of jams. I have helped others. But you know what is really fun? When you pay it forward. I have paid for the car behind me in a drive through. People have paid for my order before. Or when you walk up to someone and slip some money in their hand and tell them God wanted to bless them.

You can be an answer to a prayer. You can be the light in a dark place. So if you are going through a rough spot, God has a way out. If you are not, listen for God’s prompting. He may be trying to use you to answer a prayer.
