Faith in a Faithless World

by | Sep 4, 2021 | Faith, Praise Report, Testimony

I have been praying for requests this morning and listening to praise and worship songs. I started thinking about faith. Both requests I prayed for were crying out for more faith even though neither one came right out and said it. But I decided to share some praise reports. I know I have told them before but God keeps reminding me to rehearse past victories, so here goes.

  1. In 2002 I lost my job and since my health was not really great I started the disability process. I was working with a company that specialized in it. A year passed with no progress. I finally started calling daily and after a week of this I got a letter saying I wasn’t qualified for disability. I was telling a friend about it. Her sister gave me the name and number of a lawyer. He told me exactly how the paperwork needed to be filled out. My family doctor and orthopedic doctor filled them out and sent them to my lawyer. My mom told me to write my congressman, which was from my county, and see if he could do anything. I guess he did because with a couple months I had disability and did not have to go to court. My lawyer was even surprised I didn’t have to go before a judge.
  2. In 2004 I started looking for a gastric bypass doctor that would take Public Aid. No one around my home would take it. I finally found one 3 hours away from home. I jumped through all the hoops that public aid wanted done before they would approve the surgery. I had to have a ton of tests done and a psychiatric eval done. I passed all except the stress test. My heart doctor told it was nothing except artifact. He had to call my gastric bypass doctor and reassure him plus fax him a letter for my file. But I was cleared and had the surgery.
  3. My car broke down a couple years ago. It was going to cost me several hundred dollars. I didn’t have that kind of money. I found out about a mechanic here in town. I knew him from when he dated a friends daughter when they were in high school. He fixed my car and did not charge me anything. He said it was repayment for being so nice to him all those years ago.
  4. The air conditioning in my car hasn’t worked for a couple of years. A friend kept telling me to get it checked. He said he would pay for the diagnosis. My mechanic doesn’t charge to diagnose a problem. So my friend said he would help me pay for it to be fixed. While thinking about it, God dropped it in my heart to not accept his offer to pay for it. For me to just believe him for the money. So I am able to make payments on my car. On a $400 bill I have paid $100. Codey told me I can pay whatever I can whenever I can.

God is so good. My faith is so strong. I know he has good things coming. I even have a new vehicle coming with no payments. I just have to be patient and wait.

So I want to encourage everyone today to be patient and wait for God’s timing. His timing is perfect.God bless you.
