Clearing the Pipes

by | Sep 4, 2021 | Gifts of the Spirit, Prayer

“Likewise the spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26 ESV)

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Ghost.” (Jude 1:20 ESV)

Ever feel stopped up? Feel like you are clogged and sluggish? Maybe your prayer life is lacking.

I have been feeling stopped up lately. I felt like I hit a brick wall and couldn’t go any further.

Just last night I was trying to find the subject God wanted me to talk about today. I started a couple different topics and they just didn’t feel right.

My prayer partner called while I was struggling. We started to pray in tongues. We started praying awhile ago together for 10 minutes a day.

We were faithful about until recently. The weather turned good and we got busy. We let it go, with only praying occasionally.

We started again and we started to pray in tongues for 20 minutes. We need to get back to doing it daily again.

But praying last night with her really helped me. God said to write on praying in tongues. He was talking to me about it while I was praying. I miss hearing God talk to me but it’s my own fault. I get busy and don’t always make time for God. Well, that has to change.

I have been asked by more than one person, “do you know what you are saying?” Not always. I know what I am praying about but not the actual words. Sometimes, God will tell me. It’s usually a message for me or someone else.

But I want to encourage you today to pray. If you can’t pray in the spirit, pray in English or what ever language you speak. God doesn’t care as long as you take time out for him. So make time in your schedule to talk to God every day. I promise you won’t use up all your data.
