“Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.” (Deuteronomy 8:2 NIV)
“Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.'” (Exodus 16:4 NIV)
We have all had tests to pass in our lives. If you went to school, you had to pass tests to advance to the next grade.
As I was researching yesterday for this, I came across an article about God testing us. One thing God tests us for is obedience. He wants to know if we will be obedient to him. He will give us something to do and we may not like what it is but He wants to know if we will do it for Him.
Obedience goes along with trust. If we trust God we usually obey Him. But if we don’t trust Him then we will usually disobey Him.
You see, God wants to know our hearts. He won’t test you to punish you. When our faith is tested, our relationship with God will also be tested. Faith is a spiritual pathway to a relationship with God. By paying attention to what’s going on in our lives, it should show you that God is trying to teach you through everyday issues.
So have you had any tests lately? I have. And I passed the test with flying colors! How about you? Did you pass the test?
