Lifeline

“It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God.” (Hebrews 6:19 MSG)

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV)

Google defines lifeline as “A thing on which someone or something depends or which provides a means of escape from a difficult situation.” Also, “A rope or line used for life saving, typically one thrown to rescue someone in difficulties in water or one used by sailors to secure themselves to a boat.”

Have you ever felt like you were drowning but you weren’t in water? I think most of us have at one time or another. But what do you do about it? Who do you turn to? When no one is there for you or when no one will listen to you. What do you do? Do you just give up? A lot would. Some would fight back.

You know pity parties are no fun. No one wants to be around you because of your mood, so you are a party of one. But there is someone who will throw you a lifeline. And just who might that be, you ask? None other that the greatest man who ever live, Jesus! He will throw you a lifeline every time you feel like you’re going under for the last time. He has the answers to all of your problems. There isn’t one little thing that he doesn’t know the answer to.

So if you feel like your drowning and going down for the last time, call out to Jesus. He will come for you. He will throw you a lifeline.
