The Inner Me

by | May 19, 2008 | Death, Eternity, New Life, Poem

There is something beyond heartache, beyond sickness, and beyond death;
My Lord God, The Almighty Savior………is my life and my breath.
The outer me is dying, but the inner me is renewed in God everyday;
Please don’t grieve for the outer me, when it passes away.

For when I cross over, I will have a new body and a new mind;
I won’t try to hold on to the outer me, I’ll gladly leave it behind.
Going home to The Father and all those who have gone on to rejoice;
Shouting glory hallelujah, sweet Jesus, I’m glad I made “The Choice”.

I can just imagine an eternity with my Father The King;
St. Peter open those Pearly Gates, and tell all the angels to sing.
I will never miss the outer me or anything of this Earth;
The inner me is bursting open, for a glorious new birth.           Amen
