The Sweet Valentine

by | May 20, 2007 | Poem, Relationship, Valentine's Day

The sweetest Valentine I know
Gave us His own life, long ago.
He withstood the torture and the pain
So that His loss would be our gain.

There’s no love greater, that I can see,
Than the One who gave His life for me.
His finest gift and sacrifice
Has given us Eternal Life.

What lasting gift could one bestow
Than to pay the ransom for our soul?
There is but one true Valentine.
He’s the One who gave His life for mine.

I’ve given my heart and soul to You,
My Valentine; so sweet and true.
Someday, I’ll meet You, face to face,
So I can thank You for Your saving grace.
