Well Groomed

Our cat, Sammy, had to go to the groomer’s a couple of weeks ago. We put it off as long as we could. He was starting to look like a rug-with fringe. But Sammy absolutely hates to go to the groomers’. They don’t particularly love to see him coming either. After wrestling with him for an hour or so, they called and said they couldn’t finish him until I picked up some kitty downers from the vet.

When I picked him up, the groomer did not look happy. She said it took three of them to hold him down. He doesn’t even have any front claws. And he was under the influence! (We call it cat-a-tonic.)

I think one of the things that Sammy hates worst is when we leave him at the shop alone. Going it alone can be tough. But we of the non-feline persuasion don’t have to go it alone. Plug in to some good Christian friends who’ll encourage you in your walk with Christ. We all need good buddies. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!” (NIV) Good, godly friends are such a blessing. They can even help us stay “well-groomed” in Christ!
