Reflections

This morning when I woke up I dreaded going to work so I shouldered the burden of work upon my back. I walked to the front room and saw the stack of bills to be paid. Again the burden was put upon my back. I walked to my children’s room and saw them asleep, dreaming peacefully.

The burden of raising them to be good citizens put more weight on my back. My wife was making coffee in the kitchen. My love, I wish I could do more for her. The burden of not being able to do enough was added to my back. Walking into the front room, the weight of life seemed over-whelming, so much weight upon my back. I buckled under the weight and got to my knees. While I was on my knees, I talked to God about my problems and concerns. After a while, I did not have a burden. With tears in my eyes, I said, “Thank you God.”
