Jesus I Love You

by | Jun 3, 1999 | Poem, Surrender

Jesus, I’m so in love with You.
Jesus, I love everything You do.
When will I see Your lovely face?
When will everything fall in place?

I gave that man the extra coat.
That same one to whom I gave my cloak.
Jesus, I want to walk the extra mile.
Jesus, I want to make You smile.

I want to be Your sister under God,
So when I sin, don’t spare the rod.
I want to set my light upon the hill
That others may see to do Your Will.

How do I find the money to give
When I have so little on which to live?
If I give in kind, will it count the same?
Will it work to glorify Your Holy Name?

Lord, from my heartbreak through these years,
You must have a dozen bottles of my tears.
But no one ever could take away my fears
Like You, Lord Jesus. Now, that is why
I can’t wait for Your coming in the sky.

To You, only, is all my homage owed;
From Whom, for me, Your life blood flowed.
Do not let me stray, whatever I do.
Jesus, I am so in love with You.

Pull my worried questions into Your side
And keep me faithful until the day I die.
Help me to stand and, after doing all, to stand,
Held whole and Holy by Your Mighty Hand.

In the face of persecution, taunts and war
Held by Your grace sufficient, and no more.
Oh, Love, that would not let me stay in sin,
Hold out Your Hand and draw me to Your Heart again.

Jesus! Master! Savior!
