Greet one another with a holy kiss.
(2 Corinthians 13:12 ESV)
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
(Luke 15:20 ESV)
I saw a thing on TikTok today from “Psychology Today” that said, “a person needs four hugs a day or your brain suffers from loneliness. Physical touch is vital, not optional.”
Do you really think hugs are important? I do. I got a hug from my 11 year old great grandson and 9 year old great granddaughter yesterday and it felt so good.
Physical touch is vital. Babies need that touch. Right after birth they lay the baby on mom’s chest, skin to skin. I was told that starts the bonding between mom and newborn. They do it with dad sometimes too.
Touch, when done in love, is a healing for me. Touch like a hug is so important to me. It makes me feel so much better. I forget aches and pains. I forget problems. All I feel is the love from the person hugging me.
So if someone hugs you, you will know how vital that is for them and you. Accept it gracefully.
For my coffee loving pastor, the article also said “Coffee drinkers live 2 years longer. That morning cup is a longevity hack.” Maybe I need to start drinking coffee instead of tea. Nah. I’ll stick with my tea.
Have a great day everyone and hug at least 4 people. Yes, kids count.
