Blank Feeling

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

(Matthew 11:28-29 ESV)

Let him not trust in emptiness, deceiving himself, for emptiness will be his payment. It will be paid in full before his time, and his branch will not be green.

(Job 15:31-32 ESV)

Have you ever tried to do something and your mind was blank? That’s how I felt last night. I started several different topics but nothing would come. I asked God what to write on. His reply was, “Write on how you feel right now.” How can I write on a topic if my mind is blank? Wait for God to help. So I did.

I got to wondering about the people who wrote the Bible. Did they ever have days like this? Probably not because the Bible was written. I can just see them pacing the floor, asking God why they can’t write anything. What would have happened if Noah’s mind went blank while building the ark? Would it have been finished before it rained? I can see God tapping His finger while waiting for Noah to get it together. Maybe He had to change the date the rain started because Noah was running behind.

I know I’m just being silly. But sometimes it takes a blank mind to figure it out.  Next time your mind goes blank, take a deep breath and repeat after me. “I have the mind of Christ.” Then put a leash on your mind so it doesn’t wander.

Have a great day, everyone.
