“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.”
(John 14:15 ESV)
“If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land…”
(Isaiah 1:19 ESV)
Have you ever had God nag you about something?
He does me. Maybe I am just not quick enough to respond or not sure it is actually God.
I had a doctors appointment yesterday. I live 3 blocks from my doctors office. It was warm enough to take my scooter. Yea! On my way home, I caught up to a young girl walking down the road. I am practicing boldness, so I spoke to her. I figured that she would just ignore me. But she didn’t. We struck up a short conversation. I passed her and went on my way.
God started nagging. Go back and sow into her.
I kept going, but not for long. I stopped my scooter and opened my wallet. I took out some money. I was kind of hesitant, but what matters is that I obeyed. I turned around and went back to her. I held it out and said, “God wants to bless you.”
She took it grudgingly. She said a couple of times it was ok for me to keep it. By now, I was sure it was God. I did finally win, emphasizing God wanted to bless her.
Will I see her again? Maybe, maybe not. It’s not important. I was obedient. That’s all that mattered, and I felt great afterward.
So the next time God nags you about something, don’t hesitate. Just do it. I hope you will feel as good as I did, sowing into her. She saw where I lived. Maybe she will come by and visit sometime. That would be nice.
