“Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”
(Proverbs 28:13 ESV)
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
(1 John 1:9 ESV)
According to Oxford Languages, a mistake is “an action or judgment that is misguided or wrong.” Have you ever made a mistake? Do you admit your mistakes? I found some quotes that I like about admitting mistakes.
“It takes guts and humility to admit mistakes. Admitting we’re wrong is courage, not weakness.” – Roy T. Bennett.
“Not admitting a mistake is a bigger mistake.” – Robert Half.
I have a friend who is never wrong. This person never admits to making a mistake. It gets frustrating trying to defend myself when this person won’t admit to the mistake. Life is so much better when you admit to making a mistake and apologizing for it.
While reading the Bible, you can find all kinds of people who made mistakes. Adam and Eve were the first ones. Eve made a huge mistake and caused Adam to also. But when God came to the garden and couldn’t find them, they eventually admitted to what they did. Adam threw Eve under the bus, but she was the one who caused it. God gave them clothes but they had to leave the garden. The main thing, though, God forgave them. And He forgives us too when we admit to making a mistake. He loves us so much that He will forgive us every time we ask.
So the next time you make a mistake, apologize to whoever and repent. God will forgive you.
Have a great day, everyone.
