“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33 ESV)
“Now, may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.”
(2 Thessalonians 3:16 ESV)
There’s a song called, “Peace Be Still” by Hope Darst:
“Peace be still
Say the word, and I will.
Set my feet upon the sea.
‘Til I’m dancing in the deep.
Peace be still
You are here, so it is well.
Even when my eyes can’t see.
I will trust the voice that speaks.”Peace Be Still by Hope Darst
There are times when everything is peaceful and calm. But other times when peace just can’t be found no matter how hard you try.
There are two kinds of peace that I have experienced. The kind that comes from the world. And the kind that comes from God.
I am a big fan of peace. I don’t like turmoil or disagreements. I don’t like conflict of any kind. I am 69 years old. I am too old for conflict. But it comes. And when it does, I deal with it. The devil is the king of conflict. But we have weapons to fight against him. We need to use those weapons. We can’t let the devil win. I claim the kind of peace that comes from God. He brings the most remarkable peace. It floods over you, taking cares and worries away. And we don’t have to plead and beg for it. Just ask. God will give you His peace just for the asking.
I can’t tell you the number of times I walked into church with the weight of the world on my shoulders. Within a few minutes of the start of service, peace washed over me, and my problems didn’t seem so big anymore. I hope you will ask God for His peace. Experience His peace for yourself.
Have a great day, everyone.
