“Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.”
(Proverbs 30:8 NIV)
“Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all”
(Proverbs 22:2 NIV)
If you could choose what would you rather be, rich or poor? For me, neither. I just want enough to live comfortably, pay my bills, and sow into others. I’m not quite there yet, but I’m working on it. I know God doesn’t want us living in poverty. That’s not in His plan for us. We can mess up the plans God has for us pretty quickly.
I’ve never had what you would call a good paying job. I spent my life working and made money, but also made some bad decisions. But it doesn’t matter because God still loves me. He just doesn’t like some of my decisions. I can see Him on the throne with His head in His hands over some decisions I’ve made in my life. I even wonder why sometimes. It seemed like a good decision at the time.
We have a choice. God gave us free will to make our own choices. I think He just wishes we would make the right ones. But one thing to remember, no matter what we do, God still loves us. He will never leave or forsake us.
So rich or poor, good or bad. The decision is ours to make.
Have a great day, everyone.
