“We love because he first loved us.”

“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and abides in him.”

It was a beautiful rainy day yesterday. I was waiting at the crosswalk for 2 of my great grandkids to get out of school. While sitting watching and listening to the rain, the song. “Love Lifted Me” popped into my head. Of course, I sang it. Several times. Plus once in tongues. I can’t describe the intense feeling of love that permeated my car. Jesus was there loving on me. 

I grew up singing songs like that one. Here’s the chorus:

“Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me!
Love lifted me! Love lifted me!
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me!”

I know the 1st verse and chorus by heart. But there’s another verse:

“Souls in danger look above.
Jesus completely saves.
He will lift you by his love
Out of the angry waves.
But the master of the sea,
Billows His will obey.
He your savior wants to be.
Be saved today.”

Jesus loves you. Call on Him. Sing a song of love to Him and let Him love on you. You won’t regret the feeling.
